Out in the wild, empty desert of former Arizona, a knight of the Order of the Holy Family enjoys his exile and hermitage. He is a young man and an old man, but the fame of past achievements will seek him out and send him into the half-crumbled and half-rebuilt empire of America in order to confront, assassinate, or capture the President of the United States. Elsewhere, in a small village, another man like him with the same curious condition is pushed out of his mundane and peacable setting to seek solace in religion, and he will not find it before his path intersects with his unknown brothers and sisters, the undying.
Splendor is a semi-post-apocalyptic novel set in the American midwest. It follows three characters: a knight-hermit living in former Arizona, in the desert; the President of the United States; and a simple village father.
